This summer marks not only the 15th birthday of Jeff Buckley startlingly gorgeous and haunting debut, Grace, but it also marks the sad anniversary of his passing, having drown in a channel of the Mississippi River on May 29, 1997.  And, next Tuesday, in commemoration of one of those dates and a repudiation of the other, a monolithic live DVD/CD compilation, Grace Around the World, will be released.  And, if you’re curious, it’s amazing, and well worth your hard-earned dollars.

It’s also the kind of release that sends you reeling backwards, ready to re-explore the works of a favorite artist.  As such, why not start here, with this lovely gem of a live show–a quick acoustic solo performance by Buckley in Berkeley, recorded 14 years ago this month.  Set list and podcast after the jump.

  1. again, link is bad dude…

  2. I’d love to hear this. It seems that a lot of these recent links don’t work to download the sets. I’d love the Berkeley set and the one from England. Please relink 🙂
